Harold’s music!

The one and only American Composer Harold Budd.

Very sad that it came to pass Harold died in Arcadia California in December 2020 from Covid 19 complications..

I began listening to Harold’s music back in the 1980’s. And I was an ardent fan!

I loved his music and too the music made with his many collaborators over the decades.

Harold’s music was a compass for my own work. I had the good luck to be able to have him provide music for two of my films. I think he may have been the nicest person I had ever spoken to on a telephone! A humble man with the gift of unique style and approach. I have heard him say in many interviews that he was not a piano player, not really a musician, not this or that. And indeed he sometimes may well have felt that way, but what he did was to create a style of music in which he was indeed that unique voice. Not found anywhere else! His voice was recognized by other great musicians who came to collaborate with Harold. 

I’m thankful to have been there to listen!

And I have been truly inspired by his music.
